Friendly, fixed-fee help for committees navigating the Incorporated Societies Act 2022. We handle the constitutions, restorations, annual returns and officer changes — so your society can get back to the work that actually matters.
Most committees are volunteers juggling family, work and the society they care about. Lawyers feel expensive. Accountants don't always cover this stuff. We sit right in the middle: specialist, fixed-fee, and built for people, not corporations.
Every service has a clear price up front. No hourly meters, no scary invoices, no awkward emails about scope creep.
We don't dabble. Constitution drafting, register filings, restorations, AGM packs — this is the whole job, every day.
Most filings done within 5 working days. Restoration applications prepared and submitted within 10. Time matters.
No legalese, no jargon. We explain things the way a friend who knows their stuff would — clearly and patiently.
All prices below are GST exclusive. Government filing fees (paid to the Companies Office) are listed separately where they apply.
Update your committee, contact person or officer details on the Incorporated Societies Register. We handle the lot.
No additional government fee.
Your annual return + financial statements lodged correctly with the Companies Office, on time, no chasing.
Plus government filing fee (~$36).
Society removed after 5 April 2026? We prepare and submit the full restoration package to get you back on the register.
Plus $177.78 government fee.
Full review of your existing rules against the 2022 Act. Suggested changes, redrafted clauses, ready for your AGM.
Starting fresh? We draft a fully compliant constitution and walk you through registration end-to-end.
Plus $88.89 government fee.
Your committee's safety net. Includes annual return, up to 3 officer changes, address updates, and email support all year round.
Saves around 40% vs paying per task.
Need something not listed? AGM document packs, dispute procedure drafting, society wind-ups and amalgamations are all available — just ask.
I started The Society Hub because I genuinely love helping people sort out the stuff that gets in the way of what matters to them.
Across New Zealand, thousands of incorporated societies — sports clubs, cultural groups, churches, community trusts, hobby clubs — are run almost entirely by volunteers. Brilliant people, giving their time freely, who then have to wade through legislation, registers and forms that weren't really written for them.
That's where I come in. I take care of the paperwork, the filings and the compliance, so your committee can get back to the actual work: running your society, supporting your members, and doing the thing you came together to do.
I'm not a lawyer — and I'm upfront about that. What I am is a careful, persistent, plain-English specialist who knows the Incorporated Societies Act 2022 inside out, and who treats every client's society like it matters. Because it does.
No paywall, no email signup. Useful information for the people doing the actual work.
The 5-minute version of the new rules — written for normal humans, not lawyers.

Read article →No, and I'll never pretend to be. I'm a compliance specialist who focuses entirely on incorporated societies. Most society work — register filings, drafting constitutions, restorations, officer changes — doesn't legally require a lawyer. If your situation does need one (for example, an active legal dispute), I'll tell you straight away and can refer you to one I trust.
You can still apply for restoration — the window is open until 5 April 2032. The Companies Office charges $177.78 + GST and we charge a flat $449 to prepare and submit everything. The sooner you act, the less risk to bank accounts, leases, sponsorships and contracts.
Because I'm a one-person specialist, not a firm with overhead. I don't bill in 6-minute increments or pad files. Most society work is genuinely repeatable, so fixed fees make sense and pass the savings on to volunteer committees who shouldn't be paying corporate rates.
I'm based in Auckland but work with societies right across New Zealand. Almost everything happens by email and Zoom, with occasional phone calls. Distance is never a barrier.
Officer changes and address updates: usually 2–3 working days. Annual returns: 5 working days once we have your financials. Restoration applications: 10 working days from go-ahead. Constitution reviews: about 2 weeks. If something is urgent, just ask.
For jobs over $300, I ask for 50% upfront and the balance on completion. Smaller jobs are billed on completion. The Annual Care Plan is paid annually in advance. All payments via direct credit. GST may apply once The Society Hub is GST-registered.
Send a quick email with your society's name and what you're trying to sort out. I'll get back to you within one working day with honest advice on the best next step — even if that means you don't need me.
